What you need
3 cups rolled oats
½ cup slivered almonds
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
150g butter, chopped
1/3 cup soft brown sugar
¼ cup honey
50g CADBURY Baking Milk Chocolate Melts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
2 ripe bananas, mashed
175g (approx 40) CADBURY Baking Milk Chocolate Melts, extra
1. COMBINE the oats, almonds and sesame seeds on a baking tray and bake in a moderate oven 180°C for 10 minutes or until golden.
2. COMBINE the butter, sugar, honey and chocolate in a saucepan and gently heat to melt and combine, then cool slightly.
3. STIR the spices and then the bananas into the butter mixture, then combine with the oat mixture. Spoon into a greased and paper lined 28cm x 18cm slice pan (ensure paper extends 5cm above the top of the pan) and level the top.
4. BAKE in a moderate oven 180°C for 30 minutes or until cooked and golden. Remove from oven and quickly and carefully place the extra chocolate melts on top of the slice, pressing down gently and allowing to melt a little. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into pieces and store in an airtight container until required.
Make this slice to take to work and share at morning tea or pack to eat when rugged up and watching the footy!
