What you need
4 eggs, lightly beaten
¼ cup caster sugar
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
10 slices wholemeal or white bread, buttered, crusts discarded, sliced in half diagonally
100g CADBURY Baking Milk Chocolate Chips
2 bananas, peeled and thinly sliced diagonally
¼ cup chopped toasted pecan nuts
1 tablespoon caster sugar, extra, for sprinkling
Cream or ice cream, for serving
1. WHISK together the eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla until combined.
2. DIP the bread in the milk mixture then place into a greased 2 - 2.5litre capacity deep baking dish, layering with chocolate, banana and nuts. Pour over remaining milk mixture. Press down lightly. Sprinkle with the extra sugar.
3. BAKE in a moderate oven 180°C for 45-50 minutes or until set. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Spoon into bowls and serve with a dollop of cream or a scoop of ice cream. Serve immediately
A classic winter pudding is all the better with Cadbury chocolate and bananas! It is a quick to make dessert with pantry ingredients.
