Sugar and Spice Cookies

Serves 45

Ingredients

175g butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons golden syrup
1 egg
2 cups plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons Cadbury® Bournville® Cocoa
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
caster sugar

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cream the butter, sugar and golden syrup until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat well.
  2. Sift in the flour, baking powder, cocoa and cinnamon. Mix together to form a soft dough.
  3. Cover the dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Shape the dough into balls. Roll in caster sugar and place on lined baking trays.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
